Description
In 2013 the first Roseburg Area Angel Investment Network (RAIN) Conference was held. Modeled after similar conferences around the state and with the support of OEN, RAIN's goal was to foster a stronger environment for entrepreneurship in rural Douglas County. With the help of the Umpqua Business Center, UCC Small Business Development Center, the Partnership for Economic Development in Douglas County, and YES!, RAIN has invested over $700,000. In 2016 RAIN investors created a separate investment pool to fund investment in local companies over the next year. RAIN hopes to invest $150,000 in 2017.
